Week 7

This week had a look at Google Docs. I guess because the nature of my job, I can't see me using this feature very often.

Google Book search. What a handy resource. So many options to purchase or find an item in a library. This is like the ultimate catalogue. Very interesting.

Week 7

Google Maps. Again, already use this....I have no sense of direction so like this better than actually following the old melways..

Week 6

My Space and Facebook. This was an easy one....already had them, afterall I do have teenage kids. Found a few old school friends on Facebook. Like this one!!

Week 5

RSS Feeds - Found this very interesting. Signed up for latest travel info, you all know you want to just fly away somewhere warm and sunny. Found it time efficient to have them directly contact me with 'specials' instead of waiting for newsletters like everyone else. Will explore this further.

Week 4 (cont)

Another weekend has come and gone. On Saturday I participated in a very interesting 'social experiment' commonly known as the School Reunion! Anyone who has been involved in one of these knows what I mean! Ours was a 30 year get-together and was quite challenging. I felt that, as an adult, you very rarely find yourself in a room (150+) of middle (!) aged people with absolutely nothing in common. I found myself needing to draw on communication skills that are perhaps not interest based be it work, friends etc. There is usually a common thread. As adults, we can usually 'hold our own' in situations that involve initiating a conversation, that's a given, but how often do we really find ourselves in situations other than chit chat? It was an interesting evening and proves that nothing changes much. Any thoughts on this....?

Just a quick note on Library Thing. Interesting site. I am constantly surprised that so many people can read the same novel and get so many different opinions from the same book!

Well, back to work for me! Have a good week and I look forward to hearing what other people have been upto this week. Cheers!

Week 4

Hi All,

I have been away for a couple of days at a volleyball tournament with girl wonder. She was competing in vic schools cup and joy o' joy came home with a silver medal! Talk about living through your kids, honestly, I really must get myself a hobby!! Maybe this is it.....very sad I hear you say. Its just a quick note today as it is VERY late 2.42 in the morn and I will be very ugly if I don't get some beauty sleep. Cheers for now.

Week 3

Another weekend has come and gone. We had yet another busy couple of days with daughter no 2 having an exhausting 15 hours of volleyball prac. For son no 1 the football has finally finished and netball is over for another season, so our weekends will be our own. How will we fill our saturday arvos?? What does everyone else actually DO with their 6th and 7th days of the week? Fill me in, if you can. Am I game to think we might spend some time just by ourselves, the husband and I, is that what happens when sporting commitments are over for the year??? Another one of life's questions.

As our minds dare to wander to the thoughts of holidays, where will we go, what will we do. My workmates tease me with stories of far away places. Where will be our final destination?

Question - what was YOUR favorite holiday and why?

Until then, cheers to those 6th and 7th days of the week, here they come......

Week 2

Hi All, I am so impressed with my work friends who have really embraced this initiative and are running head first into the techno world. Photos and blogs are racing past at a great rate of knots!

This weeks task, if you choose to accept of course, is to sign up to Flickr and join a group. But which ones? There are so many. I choose a Volleyball group from West Australia and saw some great pics and hopefully made some new friends. What a great site. Can't wait to see what next week brings.....15 minutes is not long enough!!!!

Well back to work and enjoy YOUR day!!

23 Things

Hi All,

My first ever blog. I feel quite liberated and of course, bragging all the while to the kids! Well, here goes folks. Those who know me, know that I practically live in the car, running from one sporting commitment to another!

Its Friday (again) how does that happen? We are finally at the end of the volleyball (Amy), Netball (Jess) and football (Ben) seasons. When does this all stop I wonder? Just one of lifes questions. Any advice from those who have survived the 'teenage' years would be greatly appreciated.

I have to say I'm enjoying reading other peoples blogs, their interests and hobbies, who knew we were such a diverse group!

Well, cheers for now ....
